GRANITE
Granite is a common type of felsic intrusive igneous rock which is granular and phaneritic in texture. These rocks mainly consist of feldspar, quartz, mica, and amphibole minerals.These form interlocking somewhat equigranular matrix of feldspar and quartz with scattered darker biotite mica and amphibole (often hornblende) peppering the lighter color minerals.
APPLICATION AREA
Granite is widely used for building, road and bridge construction, and also used for chemical, metallurgy, electric power, printing and dyeing, national defense installation fields etc.
